Hush Puppies x ARTHOUSE Unlimited collaboration

As part of our Better + Brighter campaign, we are delighted to introduce our latest collaboration with ARTHOUSE Unlimited.

About the Partnership

Championing creative talents with complex neuro-diverse and physical support needs, we asked ARTHOUSE Unlimited’s group of talented artists to create a Bassett Hound inspired piece exclusively for Hush Puppies. The colourful design, based on our iconic four-legged ambassador, captures the essence of kindness, joy and optimism and is available across socks and tote bags with 50% of all profits going to support the charity.

Behind The Design

In September 2023, we embarked on a creative journey with the talented artists of ARTHOUSE Unlimited, commissioning them to bring to life an exclusive basset-hound print for Hush Puppies. Over the course of a month, these dedicated artists poured their passion and creativity into crafting a design that captured the essence of kindness, joy and optimism and included our iconic four-legged ambassador in bright and bold colours.

Join us as we delve behind the scenes to uncover the inspiration and craftsmanship that went into creating this unique print, embodying the spirit of collaboration and creativity.

Meet The Artists

Meet the Artists behind the wonderful design.

Adam Crocker

I’ve been coming to ARTHOUSE Unlimited for a long time. I love coming here because I like doing all the different artwork and we can chat and have a tea break! ARTHOUSE Unlimited has helped me feel pleased and proud. I like the working with the instructors. When someone buys my work I feel very proud as it means that people like it.

Elanor Sinden

Art is therapeutic, I have always found it therapeutic and also love the tea that Matt makes on a Friday session. I love seeing my artwork being sold and it makes me very proud when someone buys it. I feel very independent when I come to ARTHOUSE as I can be creative. Sometimes I do like to be known as an artist. Someone came in on Saturday and called me an artist which was great and made me very happy.

Karen Brown

I’ve been coming to ARTHOUSE Unlimited for a long time now, I love it because I like coming up with ideas for cards. I like coming to ARTHOUSE because the people here are friendly, caring, nice and kind. It makes me feel so good when I see my work being sold. I feel really proud of myself at ARTHOUSE Unlimited.

Richard Poel

I’ve been coming to ARTHOUSE Unlimited since 2005. I’ve had epilepsy since I was 18 months old but I can do most things that anyone can do. Being an artist runs in my family. I think it runs through my genes. When you have a seizure you are 4 times stronger than you were before. If you haven’t done first aid training you may be a bit scared but you shouldn’t be. I think people need to learn more about epilepsy.

Stephen Knapman

I have always loved drawing and art. I like painting the best and doing group work whilst listening to music. I’ve been coming to the ARTHOUSE Unlimited for many years, when I was at my last place, I had trouble finding somewhere like the ARTHOUSE Unlimited where I could draw and paint.

Nathan Walsh

I like to come on Fridays to ARTHOUSE Unlimited, because It's my favourite place. I like colouring. I like the people here, they are nice, kind and friendly.

Peter Andrews

It makes me happier to come here every week. I come to ARTHOUSE Unlimited three times a week to be in the studio and in the shop. When I'm in the studio, I like to draw and add texture to my drawings. I like the studio sessions because they help me to keep going and relax.
When I'm in the shop, I like to meet customers, say hello, and show them what I've done here. I like to talk to customers and tell them what I do.

Simon Hammond

Simon’s uniquely expressive work has become an essential part of ARTHOUSE Unlimited design throughout his long and accomplished career. Working with incredible focus and energy, he carves bold figures and animals bursting with life. His drawing is built by layering lines from the inside to out.

Laura Cordwell

I like coming to ARTHOUSE because I like making art with my art instructor Zoe.

Janine Gourong

I like to come to ARTHOUSE. Seizures give me dizzy headaches and sickness, they make me a good bit tired afterwards. They are wretched things I’d like to see the back of them. If it was Christmas, I’d make the obvious Christmas cracker wish, to never get a seizure ever again. I’d be glad to see the back of them, but until I do, I’ll get a good march up the road, up yonder as I call it, to ARTHOUSE Unlimited to paint and create, and to have my favourite, bourbon biscuits and black coffee that help me to concentrate and be art perfect.

Sean Arundell

Sean likes drawing and painting, especially people. He really likes music and loves being the DJ at every party!.
