This was my third pair of Janessa shoes in size 8 and as the other reviews say the sizing has been massively reduced. See photo. I usually wear a size 7 shoe so thought an 8 in Janessa would still fit but it doesn’t. When I measured the rubber sole compared to my current size 8s it’s 15mm shorter and 5 mm narrower - no wonder they feel tight! Going to have to try size 9 instead
Too small, never a size 9.
I ordered a size 8, the shoes say they are an 8 but far far too small. My daughter is size 6 and they fit her perfectly.which is disappointing for me as I love the colours and the style.
Great shoes right foot a bit stretched from someone clearly trying on with bigger feet but too much hassle to send it back fairly happy otherwise
Have bought these in size 9 before and loved them so decided to purchase again. Unfortunately they came up really small & were more like a size 7 than a size 9. Very disappointing.
These shoes come up small. I bought a pair of size 9s a few years ago which were perfect. Disappointingly these were more like a size 7. Won’t be purchasing again!
I really needed a size 3.5, but can’t fault the quality! Will be having them slightly stretched.
These shoes used to be great and previously I’ve had several pairs - they were a staple and often got compliments - 5*. The new version of these is poor quality and the sizing now comes up small so I had to return, hence 1*. The new ones are made of a stiffer material and the inside sole thickness has changed - its thickness comes halfway up the space for your heel. The shoe length is also smaller. Please HP make these like you used to!
Good quality and excellent service and price
Very narrow fitting. Bought 1/2 size larger as had seen the in a shop and thought they looked narrow. Struggled to get into them and have worn them as slippers just to 'wear them in.' Still a tight fit, but wearable, for now, With winter approaching and when wearing socks, I doubt I will be able to wear them. Only reason they were not returned was that someone put the box and paper in the bin, which was emptied. Lovely shoes, but very narrow fit. Hoping they will stretch over time.
I was trying to replace a pair of these bought a few years ago. They are both size 7. The new shoes are more like a 5 and need to be returned. They are so incorrectly sized.
I was looking to replace these shoes which I’ve had for years and loved. They were a size 7 and a perfect fit. I ordered the 7 this time and they’re closer to a 5. Can’t get them on and I’m often a 6.5. So I’m having to return them at my own expense despite my strong sense that they have been mis-sold. Because of all of that, I’ll now give Hush Puppies a wide berth. They’re absolutely full originals were a lovely soft leather and these aren’t like that either but can’t comment more since I couldn’t get them on.

It’s taking a while to wear them in. I don’t think the leather is quite as soft as the identical pairs ( Janessa) of hush puppies that I’d bought 10 years ago!
This is the third time I have bought these for work- they are usually extremely comfortable and hard wearing. But this time they are just a little too tight and I haven’t worn them yet as I just know they will need a lot of breaking in to be ok. Shame because my last 2 pairs were perfect!
Reading other comments, I ordered a size up (usually take a 6, average width, so got a 7). Perfect fit.
The right shoe is a poor fit at the heel. I bought a black pair as well and they fit perfectly, the right tan colour shoe was poorly made.
Reviews were right. Size up needed. Otherwise all fine.
So disappointed. Have wanted a pair of Janessa's for years but had to return them. Bought them and poor quality, the insole was not connected to the sides of the shoes. Have always had good fit from Hush Puppies size 9 but these were so narrow and possibly fit size 8. Won't be buying HP's again.
I had two pairs of these quite a few years ago which wore out so was very pleased to find out they were still being made, although not in interesting colours as previously. However... I'm not sure how the sizes have been worked out but no way is this an 8. After reading other reviews I went for an 8 expecting it to just fit (I'm normally a 7.5 (41)) but it's very tight. The leather is also quite stiff so they are going to take some softening up and wearing in. All in all not nearly as good as the older model but I'll preserve with them!
My reviews still haven’t been published. I have worn this style for years but they’ve clearly changed the manufacturing as a U.K. 8 is definitely tiny compared to what it was previously. Very very disappointing.
I'm a size UK 7 & these were a little snug on me but because they are made with good quality leather they have stretched very slightly & now fit well. I had seen these shoes on a different site & nearly bought them but glad I looked on Hush Puppies site as they were £20 cheaper in the sale with Hush Puppy. Love them.
These shoes come up beyond small I ordered a size 7 they didn't even come close to a 6 and the leather is very hard and not forgiving at all they are also very narrow
As well as being too tight (I chose my usual size), there were faults on one shoe and 10 days later I’m still waiting to find out how I return them without having to pay postage. Wouldn’t have bothered reviewing except for the email asking me to when I’m still waiting for a response from customer service after 3 emails.
Second pair of these I’ve had! Love them !
I’m very familiar with ‘Janessa’ as I’ve literally worn this style daily from Hush Puppies for years. What is unacceptable is that they have reduced the actual physical size of the shoe considerably so a UK ‘size 8’ (that has been a certain size for years) has actually shockingly ‘shrunk’. It’s not that my old Janessa are stretched out from wear, the soles are so different in size it’s so disappointing and unbelievable, I had ordered 6 pairs to ‘stock up’ as they were my go-to shoe. Terrible service and waste of time.
Not enough detail of the product
I think the sizing has been changed on the Janessa shoe, I ordered a size 8 which I have bought on 2 previous occasions & this was too small. Had to buy a size 9 which fits. I am not a size 9 (usually a 7, but previously size 8 with both previous pairs of Janessa) so something very strange has happened with your sizing. The sizing is printed inside my old size 8 & new size 9 shoe & the measurement in mms is smaller on the new size 8 & size 9 is almost identical in mm measurement to what was your old size 8. The style of the toe section of the shoe appears to be slightly different - slightly longer & more closed over the toes. Disappointing to have just a drastic change of sizing without any warning to the customer - as I ordered on line as had felt confident on my size (as had bought this shoe twice previously) I incurred costs for postage when I had to return the new size 8 that was unexpectedly too small. Hope you can sort this out.
Love my new shoes great to find a regular size nine that does not gape in the middle as most mines a wide fit

Still wearing them in but they are very comfortable none the less. Easy to wear and versatile for lots of outfits and occasions. Wouldn’t usually buy footwear on line but as I couldn’t find a high street stockist there was no other choice. Your service was easy and efficient to use, the 20% discount I received was a pleasant surprise as well. Will certainly consider further purchases.
