Brown Marsden Chukka Boots

The Marsden Chukka boot looks much better in the flesh than the pictures showed, I wasn't sure about the look of a black sole with brown suede uppers, but putting them on it works. The sole looks like it will be hard wearing but only time will tell. I previously bought a pair of Hush Puppies Jonas Chukka boots which have much thicker leather uppers, and a seeming looking thick sole but I had to get them re-soled after 1 year as they developed holes, something I would understand if I had worn them everyday in that year - I wore them 1 or 2 days a week on rotation with other shoes. The Marsden Chukka has much thinner leather than the Jonas and much stiffer reinforcement in the heel which proved to be uncomfortable after only one hour of wearing them. The fit of the left and right shoes are slightly different (to be expected), in my case the cut of the left shoe gave me a huge bloody blister between the heel and ankle bone. This seems to be a recurring theme with the Hush Puppies boots, the Jonas Chukka's I already have, took about a month to wear in, this time blistering both areas around the tendon above the ankle bone. Im sure that these will take a bit of time to wear in and recover from blisters as well. Like the look, just wish their sizing chart was more consistent across all their boots as I also bought another pair of boots from Hush Puppies with these and they fit very differently to these Marsden and my previous Jonas boots. Just to qualify the latter, they are different styles but even then the fit should not vary that much across 3 different pairs of boots.
